Office Add-in

The Aimable Office add-in puts your Aimable assistant inside Microsoft Office. It ships for Excel today, with Word and PowerPoint planned.

Once deployed, the add-in adds an Aimable button to Excel's Home ribbon. Clicking it opens a task pane where users chat with Aimable without leaving the spreadsheet — and because it signs in to your Aimable workspace, it answers using the models and governance that workspace already defines.

How it reaches your users

You don't install the add-in per person. An administrator deploys it once from the Microsoft 365 admin center using your tenant's manifest link, and it then appears in Excel for everyone in scope.

Requirements

  • Excel — on the web (excel.office.com) or the Microsoft 365 desktop app on Windows or Mac.
  • An Aimable workspace — users sign in to the same workspace they use elsewhere.
  • A Microsoft 365 administrator — someone with permission to deploy Integrated apps handles the one-time rollout.

What it can do

The add-in requests permission to read and write the active workbook, exchange data with the Aimable service, and read the signed-in user's basic profile. In practice that means Aimable can look at the data you point it to and make edits when you ask — all inside Excel. The exact capabilities are shown for review during deployment; see Installing in Microsoft 365.
